6201 hsn code and woven jackets
Woven outerwear sits in Chapter 62, where heading 6201 is for men's and boys' overcoats, car coats, capes, anoraks, windcheaters and similar, and 6202 is the same for women. The 5% band applies to pieces sold at Rs 2,500 or less. A winter jacket billed at Rs 3,200 is 18%. Before the reform the line was Rs 1,000, so many mid priced jackets now pay less tax.

Raincoats of coated textile are coats under 6201 or 6202 with the price test. Raincoats made wholly of plastic sheet are plastic apparel under 3926 20 at 18%.
